Jesus is the Only Way
“Jesus saith unto him, I Am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me”. John 14:6
The only way to be right with God is to repent, which means to turn from one’s sin, and put all faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, committing one’s entire life to Him for all eternity. That’s it. There is no other way that a person can be accepted by God. We can never be “good” enough. God requires perfection, and no person that has ever lived can meet God’s standard of perfection. No amount of works can satisfy the righteousness that God requires. But God knew that we humans could never be perfectly righteous because He gave us free will to do as we desire. The problem is that most of the desires of folks are not perfectly righteous because people are selfish. They want what they want when they want it. Even God’s chosen nation of Israel with all the benefits that God gave them for thousands of years could not live up to His standards. We read over and over in God’s word that His own people walked away from Him time and time again.
None of the sins of people took God by surprise. He made a way whereby men and women could be reconciled with Him even before He made man because God knew that His creation would sin against Him. It makes us wonder why He even created man in the first place, but He knew that there would be some who would desire to become members of His family. He knew that some folks would repent of sin, trust in Jesus Christ, and commit their lives to Him. For these, He made an eternity in a perfect place called heaven. He also made a place for all those who reject Christ, and lots of people live like they don’t believe there is a hell. They will find out one day that every word of God’s Bible is true, and they will regret for all eternity that they did not make the most important decision of their lives. But those who do repent and receive Christ will enjoy a perfect paradise forever. Either one can live as they please here on earth, reject Christ, and spend eternity in hell or repent, receive Christ, live for Him, and spend eternity in the most beautiful place that God created. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
This is probably my last blog. I have enjoyed communicating God’s word to whomever would take the time to read them, but the response that I have received over the last six years hasn’t been as much as I desired. It’s has been fairly small. I suppose that if folks don’t care about reading God’s word, they are certainly not going to desire to read a blog about God’s word. My goal was to hopefully get folks interested in reading the Bible for themselves for there is nothing like studying God’s word to fill one’s mind with hope for the present and for the future. If more people would read God’s word and apply it to their lives, this world would become a better place to live. However, those of us who do know the Lord, know that the world as we know it will come to an end, and the whole purpose in knowing God’s word is to know to be prepared for the time when one comes face to face with the Lord of heaven and earth. And that is a fact that no one will be able to avoid.
Thanks to all of you who have read my blog. I have had hits from different countries across the globe, but I don’t know if they actually read my blog or not. After over 1,300 posts, I have only had seven responses with five being very positive and uplifting and two were vulgar. However, my hope is that some who read my blog were helped, encouraged, and motivated to study God’s word on their own. Our world is in desperate need of folks willing to stand for the truth. Scripture tells us that no one knows the hour or day when Jesus will return except God the Father, but, judging by the condition of the world today, it certainly seems like it can’t be that far off. In Matthew 24:36, Jesus said that “of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” I have written before that I can picture Jesus sitting on the edge of His throne, beside His Father, ready to rise and return to earth, asking, “Can I go now, Father?” And God, the Father replies, “Not now, Son, but soon.”
I don’t know when Jesus will return, but I do believe that He will return probably sooner than later. Every day that passes brings us one day closer to that great event. Not all Christians believe that God will rapture His people prior to the time of tribulation, but many do, and I certainly hope the latter are correct. No matter when the rapture occurs and Jesus returns, it behooves us to be ready for no one knows the day nor the hour except God. However, and whenever it occurs, we need to be ready and “looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.”
A special thanks to all who have read and appreciated the blogs that I have posted. My website will be available until the middle of July 2024. May God bless everyone who is waiting for Jesus’ return and keep your eyes on the eastern sky.
