Abortion: Satan’s Tool
“And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into My mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.” Jeremiah 32:35
Something happened this week that I never thought would happen but am grateful that it did. Courageous and intelligent men and one woman on the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the “right” to abortion was unconstitutional, and thus Roe vs. Wade was overturned. There have been jubilant displays on one side and vicious, hateful, and out-of-control actions on the other. I cannot watch it on the news. When I have seen portions of the street protests of those in favor of murdering infants within the womb, I think about what Jesus said about the wide gate and the broad way which leads to destruction, and many are marching head long that way (Matthew 7:13). These folks are nothing more than tools of Satan to promote his evil and cruel ways.
The murdering of infants and children is nothing new. God said that the shedding of innocent blood is one of the seven things that He hates, that is an abomination to Him (Proverbs 6:16-19). This was one of the sins of the people of Judah for which God sent the Babylonian army to kill or capture His rebellious people. The egregious sin of the people reached across Judah as God’s people built high places dedicated to Baal in the valley of the son of Hinnom, the location where Solomon had originally built high places to Molech, the god which required child sacrifice. Molech was an inanimate object which could not speak or think, an empty, useless piece of nothing. It was Satan who put this idea of child sacrifice into the minds of Molech’s worshippers, who tossed their little children and babies into a fire and watch them burn alive. They beat drums to try to drown out the cries and screams of the burning children. God said that this horrific type of worship had never even crossed His mind. If you have ever read about how abortions are performed, it is no less heinous that what the ancient people of Judah were doing.
What kind of human mind is so cruel, ruthless, and void of compassion to murder little children and babies? Only one that is demonic, completely controlled by Satan. That is the only explanation that makes sense, not in the sense of justification, but rather to explain something that is beyond rational thinking. According to Unger’s Bible Dictionary, excavations of the area known in ancient times as the valley of Hinnom have uncovered evidence of infant skeletons nearby where ancient shrines were located. It sounds crazy, but the Ammonites revered Molech as a protecting father. How absurd! Hebrew law prohibited the worship of Molech, but that didn’t stop Solomon in his old age influenced by his idolatrous wives and concubines to build an altar to Molech in the Hinnom Valley. Neither did it stop the people of Judah from this abhorrent form of idolatrous worship.
What did these ancient peoples who sacrificed their own children hope to gain by these actions? Did they think that there was some benefit to their own lives in making these sacrifices or to appease Molech so he would withhold his wrath upon them? In other words, they did it for selfish reasons. Do not women have abortions for selfish reasons today? For convenience? For their career? For the ability to commit fornication without the fear of bringing a little baby into the world? These are all selfish and self-centered reasons. However, I think it goes much deeper than that. I have read that abortion is a basic practice of those involved in the occult. I saw online that Satanists believe they have a right to abortion because it is part of their worship. My guess would be that the babies aborted are actually sacrifices to Satan just like the ancient Molech worshippers. I believe that abortion, the religion of climate change, transgenderism, and other ungodly ideas are nothing more than modern-day Baal worship.
The only justification for an abortion is to save the life of the mother in those rare cases where only she or the baby can survive. However, in those cases, nearly all mothers will desire for the baby to be saved, willing to give their lives so the baby can live. Just as the land of Judah was polluted by these ungodly forms of worship so is our nation polluted by the sin of abortion and attacks upon the minds and hearts of our children, causing them confusion, fear, and ignorance of God and His word. We are truly in a battle between good and evil for the hearts and souls of the younger generation. Just because Roe vs. Wade has been overturned doesn’t mean the battle is over. It will most likely continue until hearts are changed by the power of God or Jesus returns. Speaking of that, I saw a t shirt advertised online that said, “‘Normal’ is not coming back; Jesus is.” A heartfelt thanks to all the pro-life people who have worked so hard to see a terrible law overturned. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
