God is Going Somewhere with This
“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13
They say that all good things must come to an end, But what’s been so good about the shape our world is in?
There’s doom and gloom, discouragement on every hand, Is there any hope for our sin-cursed broken land?
Is there a purpose for all this strife that we feel? Confused and disillusioned, we ask, “What’s the deal?”
Don’t be disheartened or burdened with despair. None of this is by accident; history is headed somewhere.
Believers are filled with anticipation, looking for the return of Christ, Knowing it was for us that He paid a heavy price.
His story has filled the vast pages of time. He is most majestic, holy, awesome, and sublime.
This old sin-cursed world cost Him His precious life, But He is coming again to judge and to make things right.
It has been God’s intended plan all along the way, To give those who surrender to Him a land of perfect day.
This world as we know it will soon be over and done, Because of Jesus the victory for us will have been won.
No more pain, suffering, dying, crime or war, Only joy and restful peace will be ours forevermore.
On this day, November 6, 2018, once again we go to the polls to vote, not necessarily for the best candidate, but the one who will do the least damage to our state and nation. It is pitiful that we have to think of it that way, but as my poem pointed out, our world is in bad shape. We are reaping the results of the sinful seeds that we have sown. Politics is not the answer and is never the answer. We need men and women of integrity to lead our nation who will stand for righteousness and be willing to be a servant of the people and not to be served, but judging by the television commercials and robocalls, honest and forthright candidates seem to be in very short supply. The way I see it, the worse it gets here on earth makes heaven that much sweeter.
