America at War with America
“But He, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.” Luke 11:17
None of us, of course, remember the Civil War or as is also called, the War Between the States, but we likely remember studying about it in school. It was fought over the condition of slavery, but also about states’ rights, that is, the ability for states to rule their own territory. The Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution did away with slavery which was always a scourge upon this nation. The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution clearly states that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Any state cannot reinstitute slavery in any shape or form. However, abortions have never been a “right” in the Constitution but has always fallen under the Tenth Amendment. In 1973, Congress made it a “right” and millions of potential American citizens have had war declared upon them by politicians, sexually promiscuous men and women, celebrities, and those who do not value life. After the decision by the Supreme Court recently, Roe vs Wade has been overturned, and abortion policy has been relegated back to the states for the people to elect representatives who will represent their views on abortion.
War has also been declared upon the youth of this country in efforts to confuse and control them. It is almost as if some folks want to destroy babies and children. If abortion is not only permitted but encouraged, and children are convinced that they need to change their gender through surgery and hormones, thus disabling them from being able to procreate in adulthood, then it certainly seems as if some folks want to nearly eliminate future generations. Some states even push for infanticide, that is, killing a baby after it is born. This is directly from Satan’s playbook. If fewer and fewer babies are born, then there are fewer people to come to Christ. Those adults who push for these ungodly policies are already controlled by Satan. Not only are babies and children targeted, but so are Christians. The goal of Satan and his followers is to eliminate God, Christ, and believers from every vestige of life. They think that they will have a utopia if they can rid the land of all scripture, churches, morals, and all things godly.
I remember when 99 percent of Americans loved their country. There has always been a group that is never satisfied with anything and believes that the grass is somehow greener somewhere else. My aunt used to describe these discontented folks as those who wouldn’t be happy working as a taster in a pie factory! However, now the percentage of people who truly love this nation is decreasing each year. There have been polls taken recently, and many say they are no longer proud of their country. The pollsters should have asked, “Are you angry with the assault upon America that has taken place particularly over the last two years?” America is at war with itself. Children, again the target of Satan, are being taught in school to hate America rather than teaching them to search for truth and to think for themselves. When John F. Kennedy was inaugurated, he said, “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” His statement has been completely turned 180 degrees. The federal government has become what some call a “nanny state” because those in charge have decided that Americans need the federal government to do everything for them. It’s all about control. Whatever the government “gives” (with our tax money), they can take away, making folks dependent upon a godless institution. The problem is that many are happy with this situation mostly because they have no spiritual training. They wouldn’t know Moses from Madonna.
I suppose all those who, like me, have become depressed about the sad state of our nation find that complaining and fretting doesn’t change anything. If we compare the state of our nation and that of the rest of the world with God’s word, we can see that this dismal descent into ungodliness is exactly what God said would happen because of sin. However, there is hope for all of us who have surrendered our lives to Christ. We experience a freedom that the world will never know. I feel sorry for those who are lost in sin because they are the most miserable people in the world. They have no joy. You can see it on their faces when you watch politicians and celebrities on television. There is an emptiness in their eyes. While Christ lives His life through true Christians filling them with His light, Satan is living through everyone else filling them with darkness. No one can be neutral in this game of life. One can’t be oblivious to the Lord nor to Satan. Each person will serve one or the other.
I hope that if I am still writing my blog on July 4, 2023, I can report that some positive changes have been made, but I don’t hold out much hope that men and women will come to their senses. But who knows? Nothing is impossible with God. In the final analysis, we can live in the grace, peace, mercy, freedom, and the righteousness of Christ, or we can live under the thumb of Satan. Seems like a no brainer to me.
